Child Safety
- Children are never unsupervised at any time.
- Children must be brought directly to their teacher by the parent when arrival.
- NEVER LET A CHILD OUT OF THE CAR AND DRIVE AWAY.
- The following are procedures for release of children:
- Children are not released to anyone other than parent or guardian without a Release form or a verified phone call.
- The Released Form must be fully filled out with the date, The child's name, the name and driver's license number of the person picking up., that person's relationship to the child, and a parent/guardian signature.
- In custody cases the child's teachers are notified who has custody. A copy of the papers showing legal custody should be in the child's file. This provides the center with legal ability to call the police if a non-custodial parent should insist on picking up their child.
- Teachers are required to verify those picking up children either by signing a release form, asking another staff member to verify or by checking driver's license until they are clear the proper designated person picks up. This includes parents.
- There is immediate access at all times to a working telephone within the building.
- Administrator and teachers are mandated by law to notify local public children services when there is suspicion that a child has been abused or neglected.
- If a child sustains an injury on the school's premises during the hours of operation, an incident report will be filled out in duplicate and are placed in the parent's bin. One copy must be signed and returned to the office ASAP. The other copy is to remain with the parent.
- A first aid kit is located in the office. Band-Aids for minor scrapes are kept in each classroom.
